I don't know how to get over you,
I couldn't even if I tried.
I don't know how to stop my heart,
from drowning in tears I've cried.

I know love is a poem.
This one I wrote for you.
And if my life should end today,
I'm glad that I love you.

I know the stars outshine me.
The moon is forever bright.
But in that moment when you held me,
I outshined the night.

I know love is a poem.
It entwined our souls one time.
'Tho you're no longer with me,
I cling to when you once were mine.

We briefly touched in a universe
so perfect so it seemed.
The instant when our eyes met,
you were all I ever dreamed.

I know love is a poem,
in a world that ended for me.
Now in my own silent world,
forever lives your memory.
